We prioritize spending time on a playground everyday while traveling. However, this wasn’t always the case. There was a time when traveling with our children that the playground was the last place I wanted to be! We were in a once in a lifetime destination, I didn’t want to waste a single second doing something we could do at home!
But at some point in traveling, our perspective changed. Playgrounds became something we looked forward to each day and we’ve seen some incredible playgrounds around the world!

Playgrounds-the secret to life as a local.
One of my most vivid travel memories was when our kids were younger we were in Mageve, a small town in the French Alps. We decided to take a playground break and watched in wonder as our kids befriended children through play who did not speak the same language as them. Playing pirates. They frolicked around the playground while we enjoyed espresso and the majestic Alps. That’s when I realized-this switch was going to be a special party of our family travels.
From that moment, our kids have enjoyed playgrounds with ocean views, in historic towns, bustling cities, in mountain villages, in baiting suits and even in ski boots! (Is that even safe?)

Seeking out the Parks
Sometimes, we happen upon them and will always make a stop! Other times, we will search Google maps and look at photos to see if the park is age appropriate. Even our now 11 year old will enjoy kicking a soccer ball with local children or mom and dad.
