Piran

Piran is a beautiful coastal town on Slovenia’s Adriatic Sea, its Venetian architecture and charming old town make it an awesome alternative or add on to a trip planned to visit Venice.
Visit

Tartini Square
This oval-shaped square is the heart of Piran. It features a plaza surrounded by historic buildings, including the Venetian House and the Town Hall. The square is a lively especially during summer nights.
Church of St. George
This 14th-century church offers panoramic views of Piran and the surrounding coastline. Its bell tower is Venetian style and the church interior boasts Baroque frescoes and a statue of St. George slaying the dragon.
Medieval City Walls
Built between the 7th and 16th centuries, today, visitors can walk along preserved sections, offering elevated views of the town and the sea.

Town side swimming:
While Piran’s beaches are rocky, they offer clear waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing. You can enjoy jumping into the sea for a swim right off the towns seaside promenade.

Parking
Piran is accessible by bus from major Slovenian cities. The nearest airport is in Trieste, Italy, about 35 km away. Venice is another easy airport to fly into. Last, there are large parking lots outside of the city and a bus or walk will take you into town.
